Parkinson’s Disease (PD) is one of the most commonneurodegenerative disorders in the world and affects both motorand cognitive function. Problems with oral health and orofacialfunction are significant challenges for many persons with PD.These challenges can be painful and disabling and lead to a largepsychosocial burden and negative quality of life. It is important that dentists have insight into the disease and its impact on dentaland oral health as well as the orofacial function, so that theycan contribute to timely prevention and treatment of this patientgroup.
